I am so glad I chose this juani braided cable sock pattern because the yarn gauge and even the number of stitches to cast on fits both the yarn and my pal's foot measurements exactly. Everything fell so nicely into place, even though, in my usual muddle-headedness, I hadn't paid attention to any of these details. First time I am using 2 circular needles for sock knitting, as instructed by the pattern. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, it is a rather pleasant experience. It so happenned that I had bought an extra 2.75 mm cicular by mistake sometime back when I was planning to start my kimono shawl, which called for 3.75 mm needles. So I am happy to have found a good use for the extra circular needle.
Knitting this sock reminded me of how much I enjoy sock knitting. A pleasure I completely forgot, because the last time I knitted a sock was quite a while back, maybe half a year. How could I forget? I think it would be good to have one sock in progress at any time, so that I can always knit a few sock rows anytime I felt like it.

I have reached the halfway mark of my kimono shawl because I have finished one ball of jaggerspun zephyr. It is 34 inches long. I had started knitting this in early January, and it has taken about 2 months of car knitting time to get this far. Here's a closer view of the lace.

both projects are working out beautifully
