My Ruffley Sally Sweater.
Yarn: Sirdar Pure Cotton 4 ply less than 3 balls
Needle size: 2.75 mm and 3.25 mm
Pattern: Magknits
Finally, after knitting too many, too wide sweaters, a sweater that fits. This time, I listened to Anna. In her pattern instructions, she mentioned knitting smaller, so I did. I decided not to embellish after finishing it because I like it just the way it is. My neckline turned out more scoopneck than boatneck. I think this is because my shoulders are not broad enough and I have to pull the neckline slightly down when I wear it, but it still sits nicely and snugly on my shoulders. I do so love that little bow-tied I-cord at the shoulder. I sewed it slightly to the front instead of at the top of the shoulder. Can you believe I sewed on this bias edging THREE times? First time, after it was all beautifully done, I saw that the bow was at the back! And the second time - long story, you really don't want to hear about it. The swingy shape is feminine yet very forgiving. I can wear this to dinner, look stylish and eat my heart out without having to worry about holding my breath. Thanks, Anna, for a lovely pattern.
P.S. Anatomy of a post.
Sunday night, 5 minutes before heading out for dinner - husband snaps one photo of Sally while the son is jumping around trying to get into the photo.
Monday night - download photo to pc, post to Blogger
Tuesday 6 am - tried to write something in the post, but Blogger tells me there are errors
Tuesday night, re-post, keep fingers crossed that there will be no more errors
